winter winegrowers festival

our winter winegrowers festival

Last year we introduced our Vineyard to Farm Table Dinners: two long communal tables with winegrowers or importers, and farmers as special guests to engender discussion about the flavors presented and the land from which they come.  The meals feature tastes of several wines paired with a host of dishes made possible by the featured farmers’ bounty and served family-style.  Caleb and I are present to dine at each table and add to the mix our thoughts on pairing the flavors, scents and textures of food and wine.

For winter winetastings in 2010, we are hosting our very own micro winter winegrowers festival in the month of March.  Please save the date for welcoming Randall Grahm of Santa Cruz's Bonny Doon Vineyard for an evening of philosophy, wine, and celebration of his new book Been Doon So Long on Sunday, February 28th, to be followed by an evening with Artisanal Cellars and Campanian winegrower Bruno de Conciliis and his wines on Monday, March 1st.  Details to follow.  Later in March, we will be offering an evening with importer Banville and Jones in collaboration with Vermont Wine Merchants.  Date to be posted.

osteria pane e salute was founded 13 years ago on SlowFood principles.  We use as many local and/or organic farm-raised meats, poultry, and produce as we can find.  We procure our fish from responsible and sustainable sources, be they wild-caught or organically farm-raised.  Our aim is to preserve the experience of sharing a meal and the elegance of hospitality, and to take the time to appreciate both.  We invite you to enjoy your evening with us.

Please see our la garagista series for summer wine tastings!
